HELP WANTED: Informed Citizens is in three parts: 1. an review of the decisions made behind closed doors in Washington and Wall Street designed to maintain the illusion and mythology of democracy here at home and "spreading democracy" abroad. The LEGO pieces of this mythology don't fit with documented history: 70 years of war making, assassinations, covert meddling and sometimes diplomatic signaling for others to do our dirty work when it comes to 'empire maintenance'. UN Historian and Sociologist Professor Jan Oberg demolishes this myth, in his thesis: The three Lies Paving The Way to War in Ukraine. Oberg reveals the new international consensus: that the US Empire is in decline and will follow the path of the USSR. In the next few decades, the US will joining the rest of the world of nations leading to a world of peace--or myopically continue its myth making and bullying and lead to a world of war. The interview : January 21, 2022 by Michele Rasmussen, VP of the Schiller Institute in Denmark, with Peace and Futures Researcher Professor Jan Oberg. Oberg has been a visiting professor in peace and conflict studies in Japan, Spain, Austria, Switzerland for decades; an author of countless articles and several books; is co-founder & director of the Trans-national Foundation for Peace and Future Research in Lund, Sweden; and has been nominated over several years for the Nobel Peace Prize. How war could have been avoided in Ukraine and what can be done; underscoring the hypocrisy of sending hundreds of billions in military aid to Ukraine to stop a genocide by Russia--in a war that could have been avoided--and doing nothing to stop the genocide against Palestinians in Gaza by forcing Netanyahu to stop the genocidal bombing of civilian populations--even bypassing Congress to send weapons to Israel--in a war that could have been avoided. In both cases, offering inclusion: Russia into NATO and the EU; and Palestine into Israel a co-equal cultures. Sharing and cooperation and common socio-economic development. Why is that so hard? That's a win-win for everyone. A Nash Equilibrium instead of a Zero-Sum game.

Later, we discuss GUN WRONGS IN 2024, or the opposite of gun rights. Some 1st and 2nd Amendment SCOTUS decisions that are coming up this month, from a precedent set in 2022 in NY Rifle & Pistol Assocaition vs Bruen and SCOTUS's new "standard" on gun ownership "consistent with the 2nd Amewndment's text & historical understanding" as a precedent to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling in Texas vs Rahimi case. The 5th Circuit Court used "originalism" to invalidate the Federal law that states: "It is illegal for anyone under a restraining order for domestic violence to own or retain a gun." Suddenly, that November, 2023 decision sent shivvers around the country.

Lastly, we discuss Rachel Maddow's new CD set and book "Prequel: An American Fight Against Fascism" that recounts the efforts in the 1920s and 1930's of pro-fascists in the United States, aided and manipulated by Nazi Germany, to keep America from actively opposing Hitler--and the well-financed and widely organized plot to turn America into a fascist country and overthrow FDR. The struggle to defeat those forces began in the early 1930s led by private citizens who, on their own, went undercover to join fascist groups and try to alert various government agencies about what was happening.
